Armstrong FFA Oil Drive

The Armstrong FFA will be hosting its 3rd Annual Oil Drive April 13th 7-12 at the Armstrong High School.

 Any amount of used oil is welcome.

 If you have more than 200 gallons that you would like to recycle please contact Jennifer Hogan at Armstrong High School to arrange a pick up.

National FFA Week

The Armstrong FFA will celebrate National FFA Week February 18th -22.

Several Officers will speak on local radio stations to advertise the week’s activities. Everyday students will have a chance to participate in dress up days.

Tuesday students will dress up in their favorite camo outfits.

Wednesday will be the Annual FFA Faculty appreciation breakfast, cooked by the FFA officers for the faculty members and Blue and Gold dress up day.

 Thursday will be the Senior Member auction and Bib overall/Flannel Day.

Friday will end the week with support your favorite tractor. FFA members are invited to drive tractors in for the day, and students will participate in Agriculture Olympics and class games.

Armstrong FFA Members Participate in Section 18 Proficiency Awards.

The Armstrong FFA Chapter competed in the 2013 Proficiency Awards held at DACC on February 7th. Sixteen members participated in twenty-four different areas. Members placing 1st will advance to the district event in Mattoon on March 13th, where they will be interviewed and have a chance to advance to the state level in April.  Members participating include,

Armstrong FFA Member Participates in District V Job Interview Contest.

Armstrong FFA member Mariah Ellett competed in the 2013 Job Interview contest at Lake Land College. Mariah placed 3rd at the Section 18 FFA event and then advanced to the district level where she made the top ten. The contest involved a personal interview, a phone interview, a resume, cover letter, and job application.

Armstrong FFA members participating in the Section 18 Parliamentary Procedure CDE were Mariah Ellett, Megan Cain, Hannah Hambleton, Justin Camp, Zach Bensyl, Stephanie Stamm.

 

Six members of the Armstrong FFA chapter participated in the Section 18 Parliamentary procedure contest. FFA members learned how to successfully run a business meeting. Member Zach Bensyl served as chairman and member Megan Cain served as the secretary.
